Good afternoon,

In follow-up to the staffing announcement regarding June Rogers’ departure as Executive Director, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch (PDSB) I am writing to provide the details on the interim Executive Director.

Effective Monday, August 12, 2019, Jeanne Leonard will be assuming the duties of the Executive Director until September 2, 2019. Jeanne is currently a Superintendent at PDSB, a role that she has held since November 2015. Jeanne has worked in the field of Deaf Education for over 30 years and has held numerous roles at PDSB including Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT), Head of Unit Student Success, Principal and Vice Principal at E.C. Drury School for the Deaf, Principal of Robarts School of the Deaf and Assistant to the Superintendent at W. Ross MacDonald School. Jeanne has a wide depth of knowledge regarding the provincial and demonstration schools and has a strong focus on student achievement and well-being.

Effective September 3, 2019, PDSB will welcome Patrick Keyes as the interim Executive Director, while formal recruitment for the position is conducted. Patrick has extensive experience as an educator and school board leader. As a Superintendent of Education with the Toronto Catholic District Board, Patrick has led inclusive education and other supports for students with special education and diverse learning needs. From May 2015-18, Mr. Keyes was a secondee with the Ministry of Education, Student Achievement Division where he developed and implemented various Ministry funded programs and consultations, while collaborating with ministry staff and external stakeholders.

Thank you for your continued support during this transition period.
