Amethyst’s mission is to provide a safe place where students, families and staff find support to learn, grow, discover and ultimately “Believe in Themselves”.

A reminder that students must pass the screening tool daily to attend school:

Anyone who is sick or has any symptoms of illness, including those not listed in the screening tool, should stay home and seek assessment from their health care provider if needed.

Congratulations to our award winners last week:

  • Bella W. won the Grit award
  • Ms. Flesaru’s class won the WOW award
  • Ms. Shkilnyk’s math class won the Golden Headset award

This week we took part in activities related to Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. We all took the following Pledge to End Bullying:

I believe that everybody has the right to live in a community where they feel safe, included, valued and accepted regardless of differences.

I pledge to be respectful of others and stand up against bullying whenever and wherever I see it.

We will be hosting Student Led Conferences beginning next week and these will take place over 2 weeks. Students have been working hard on these and are looking forward to sharing their progress with you.

On Tuesday, November 30, at 5:30 pm there will be a parent presentation on Transitions to/within Secondary. This will be led by Bonnie Grace, our Resource Consultant and Guidance Counsellor. A Zoom link will be sent to all families on the day of the presentation.

We are looking forward to our Elementary Rock Climbing trip next week!

Please ensure you have opted in to School Messenger so that you can receive updates from the school. To opt-in, text “Yes” to 978338.

If your child is away due to illness, you need to communicate absences daily to the office as per our Safe Arrival Policy.

Delivery of the items from the Dielman fundraiser has been delayed due to the current situation in BC. They should be arriving shortly and we will get the items home as soon as possible.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Ms. McHardy

Student Lodging and Extended Day Update

Hi Parents and Guardians,

Extended Day and Student Lodging students have been working on crafting ornaments. The ornaments will be on display on the switchboard Holiday Tree as well as in the dorms. If students have not done one yet, they will be encouraged to do one next week. On December 16th students are welcome to bring their ornaments home to add to their tree.

Cold season is approaching! Please remember to send students in with a winter jacket, winter shoes, hats, and mittens. Both extended day and student lodging spend time outside for mask free time, despite the cold weather.

Pool Update:

The pool is open for all Amethyst and Robarts students during the school day for physical education only as proof of vaccination is not required for physical education classes as per the direction of the London and Middlesex Public Health Unit. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sherry Eacrett the Student Lodging manager at

Have a wonderful weekend,

Student Lodging and Extended Day Staff
