Amethyst’s mission is to provide a safe place where students, families and staff find support to learn, grow, discover and ultimately “Believe in Themselves”.
A reminder that students MUST pass the screening tool daily and show verification of this to attend school: COVID-19 school screening
You can print result, screen shot, or email verification to your child’s teacher. Anyone who is sick or has any symptoms of illness, including any not listed in the screening tool, should stay home and seek assessment from their health care provider if needed. If there are any symptoms of illness at school, parents will be called to pick up their child.
Congratulations to our award winners last week:
- Shoshanna R. won the Growth Mindset award
- Ms. D’s class won the WOW award
- Ms. Guild won the Kindness award
We enjoyed our Spirit Week and some fun activities before the break. We wish all of our students and their families a wonderful March Break!
A reminder that all students must complete the school screener daily before they return to school after the break (see link above) and will need to verify this with school staff.
Students in grade 8 will have an opportunity to have Graduation Photos taken here at Amethyst. Our graduation photos are scheduled for the morning of Thursday, March 31st. Information was sent home to our grade 8 parents. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Harju.
Term/Semester 2 IEPs will be developed and completed for March 22nd. Our lodging students travel home on March 25th and IEPs will be sent that day in the communication folders. If you would like a copy of your child’s IEP before March 25th, please contact the homeroom teacher and an email copy can be sent on March 22nd.
We will be offering another Parent Session this month. On Thursday, March 24th at 5:30 pm, Dr. Segal, our consulting psychologist will be leading a presentation on Learning Disabilities and ADHD. A zoom link will be shared with all families after the break.
Each student in attendance has received a box of Rapid Antigen Tests that can be used before returning to school after the break. It is suggested that students test on Saturday, March 19th and Sunday, March 20th (at least 24 hours apart) to ensure a safe return to school for all students.
We hope you enjoy the March Break! Stay safe and have fun!
Extended Day Program/Lodging Update
Hi Parents and Guardians,
The first week of the pool open was a great success! The secondary extended day students have the opportunity to swim on Mondays and the elementary students on Wednesday’s. The student lodging students are invited to swim a couple nights a week for half an hour. We invite students to add a bathing suit and towel to their belongings when they return from March Break.
Happy March Break! A friendly reminder that students are bringing home all their clothing and bedding to be laundered. The totes, fans, humidifiers, and mattress toppers can stay over March Break. We ask students to only bring back clothing and snacks they need for each week while in Student Lodging.
