W. Ross Macdonald School student Jade Ondrik is the top prize winner at the Brant Music Festival.

The 18-year-old Waterdown, Ont., resident, sang five classical pieces in English, Italian, French and Latin during the fifth annual festival held May 3-7. She took home the Richard and Virginia Blaha Memorial Silver Tray for outstanding performer in the senior trophy classes.

“It was a true honour,” Ondrik said of the award. “I have heard they were two very influential members in the Brantford music community. I could only hope they would be glad to see me receive.”
