Strike Update:

Friday, February 21, 2020.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), which includes Provincial Schools Authority Teachers (PSAT), announced that their members will participate in a one-day full withdrawal of services (strike action) on Friday, February 21, 2020 at a number of Ontario school boards across the province, including the Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch’s provincial schools, if a tentative agreement is not reached.

All provincial schools will remain open on Friday, February 21, 2020­ however, instructional programming will be suspended. Supervised activities will be provided during the school day. All residential programs will continue.

All demonstration schools remain open and full instructional programs continue.

Le vendredi 21 février 2020 :

La Fédération des enseignantes et des enseignants des écoles secondaires de l'Ontario (FEESO), qui comprend des enseignantes et enseignants de l’administration des écoles provinciales (PSAT), a annoncé que ses membres participeront à une journée complète de retrait de services (grève) le vendredi 21 février 2020 dans plusieurs conseils scolaires de l’Ontario si aucun accord de principe n’est conclu.

Toutes les écoles provinciales seront ouvertes le vendredi 21 février 2020, mais le programme pédagogique est mise en suspens. Des activités supervisées seront offertes durant la journée scolaire. Il n’y aura aucune interruption aux programmes résidentiels.

Toutes les écoles d’application demeurent ouvertes et les programmes pédagogiques complets sont présentés.

In the Learning Centre, the Provincial Schools Branch is proud to offer information that parents, students, educators and other professionals will find valuable.

Parents and educators will find material on understanding and teaching students with special needs, including information on students who are Deaf, blind or low vision, deafblind, and students with learning disabilities. Administrators will find a wealth of professional development opportunities available to their staff, and teachers can find online workshops in a variety of topics.

Students will find help with homework, information on self-advocacy, and some valuable networking tools.
